My dad was a human calculator
Throw some numbers at him seconds later
he could have the sum or product
Could add up the tax and have exact change ready
Before the cashier had time to ring it up
Always amazed me, like it was magic
But it was just the mathematics
and it came with practice
cause he never had a calculator or a cellphone handy
but I did and he could solve the equation in his head
before I could even open the app and type a few numbers in

he said it's just learning the number facts
See numbers go together in special ways
like PB & J when you make a sandwich that's always yummy
and I know 16 + 4 is always gonna equal to 20
so is 18 and 2, 3 and 17, 15 and 5 it's a number jive

is something you can know for life
